Home tour : The Minimalist and Timeless Spaces of Bullion's Project

In 1984, architect Marc Blouin fell in love with a plot of land on de Bullion Street and built a duplex there, unaware that decades later, he would return to transform it into a large-scale family project. In 2022, driven by the desire to reinvest in the space with his family, he embarked on a major renovation, completely rethinking the layout. The ground floor was redesigned to suit his and his partner’s lifestyle, while the upper level became a home for their children. Resolutely architectural, this project blends minimalism with grandeur, featuring open spaces, abundant natural light, and striking windows that frame the outdoors like a work of art.

To outfit the kitchen, entryway, bathroom, and master bedroom storage, the architect chose Bokea, perfectly aligning with the understated elegance and timeless aesthetic of his vision. We invite you to explore this unique project and be inspired by its remarkable transformation.

The unity of the spaces is expressed through the choice of Bokea facades, featuring the Grip and Slab styles in custom shades 978 Terrier and 979 Chagrin by Benjamin Moore. These carefully selected tones allow the space to breathe while seamlessly integrating with the clean lines that define it. The color choices bring essential warmth to this contemporary style, striking a subtle balance between architectural precision and visual comfort.

To create a perfect balance in this minimalist space, the architect chose to introduce touches of black through carefully selected elements. Lighting fixtures, stools, faucets, and appliances punctuate the decor with precision, adding visual depth that contrasts beautifully with the tone-on-tone palette of the design. These accents establish aesthetic cohesion, seamlessly connecting each area of the home while elegantly highlighting the refined simplicity of the overall design.
